Charges arising from the Round Three fixtures of the Betfred Super League are detailed below.
Jeremiah Simbiken of Castleford Tigers has been charged with two separate offences in Sunday’s match at Leeds Rhinos.
He was already on 2.5 penalty points having been fined for a Grade C offence earlier in the season.
The first offence for which he has been charged from Sunday’s match is Grade C dangerous contact, which would carry 5 penalty points – taking him to 7.5 points, and meaning he would serve a one-match suspension.
If he serves that suspension, half of the points arising from that charge (2.5) would be added to his previous 2.5, leaving him on 5 points – which would become the starting point for another charge from later in Sunday’s game, for Grade B dangerous contact – meaning another 3 points, taking him back up to 8 points, and another one-match suspension.
Therefore if he accepts both charges, Simboken would miss Castleford’s next two fixtures, after which his points tally would be revised to 6.5.
Jayden Nikorima of Salford Red Devils has incurred 8 penalty points, after the Match Review Panel charged him with Grade C head contact in Thursday’s fixture at Hull KR, in an incident which led to the Hull KR full-back Niall Evalds leaving the field.
Evalds subsequently failed his Head Injury Assessment, meaning he was unable to return and will also miss this weekend’s fixture against St Helens.
Therefore in addition to the 5 points for a Grade C offence, Nikorima receives three additional points - under the new on-field sentencing guidelines that have been introduced for 2025 - On-Field Sentencing Guidelines for 2025.
He will therefore serve a one-match suspension, after which his points total will be halved to 4.
All players charged have the facility to challenge at an independent Operational Rules Tribunal on Tuesday March 4.
Tom Holroyd of Leeds Rhinos will automatically appear at an independent Operational Rules Tribunal on March 4 having been charged with Grade E dangerous contact in Sunday’s game against Castleford Tigers.
